Chris Schrenk is Chief Underwriting Officer at NeuralMetrics, an insurtech company that provides AI-driven risk data for underwriting. At NeuralMetrics, Chris helps build insurance products that deliver risk-evaluation facts about businesses using intelligent technology. He brings 15 years of insurance experience to the role. He has focused throughout his career on process improvement and underwriting efficiency. Chris spoke at our 2024 InsurTech Spring Conference on “Using AI to Improve Workflows,” alongside Manu Mazumdar, Patrick Gallic, Jasper Li, and Charanjit Singh Saggu.
Chris Schrenk spent more than 12 years at Travelers before joining NeuralMetrics. He most recently served as an Operations Manager. There, he led a team of up to 20 auditors across the Western US. He managed audit inventory, workforce planning, and business partner relationships across many states and underwriting offices.
Earlier at Travelers, Chris worked for nearly a decade as a Premium Auditor. He documented complex audits and trained associates on best practices. Before Travelers, he served as an Internal Auditor at a federal credit union. He also worked as a Business Analyst at Daktronics. Chris also provides independent insurance consulting in underwriting, risk control, and premium audit.
Chris Schrenk holds a degree in Business Administration and Finance from the University of South Dakota. He is also an Associate in Premium Auditing (APA). For an insurtech audience, Chris brings an underwriting leader’s perspective on AI-driven risk data, premium audit, underwriting automation, and improving accuracy and efficiency across the underwriting process.
