Trevor Garbers, M.S., REBC®

Trevor Garbers is the Senior Vice President and Practice Leader for Voluntary Benefits at HUB International. HUB International is one of the largest insurance brokers in the world. Trevor has led its voluntary benefits practice for more than a decade. He oversees strategic planning, national carrier partnerships, and resource development. He brings a holistic, national perspective to health care cost management and benefits strategy. He has 21 years of experience in employee benefits. Trevor Garbers speaks at the 2026 InsurTech Spring Conference on the panel “Transforming the Voluntary Experience,” moderated by Christy Lane, alongside Todd Katz and Grace McNamara.

In 2022, Trevor co-founded Voluntary Advantage with his wife, Heather Garbers. The organization works to advance and elevate the voluntary benefits industry. It offers a platform for innovation, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing. Its flagship publication, Voluntary Benefits Voice, shares insights on trends, strategy, and compliance. A speaker series and service directory help professionals stay ahead of a fast-changing market.

Before HUB, Trevor was Vice President of National Accounts at Allstate Benefits. There he partnered with national and jumbo accounts across the United States. Earlier, he led U.S. distribution at Colorado Bankers Life. He also serves on multiple carrier and broker advisory boards nationally. He holds the Registered Employee Benefits Consultant (REBC) designation.

Trevor holds a Master of Science from Wayne State College. He earned a BA in Business Administration from Dakota State University. He also holds an Associate of Arts in Communications from Waldorf College. He serves on the foundation boards of all three institutions.
