Sam Santiago is the Head of US Operations at Swiss Re Corporate Solutions. Swiss Re Corporate Solutions is the commercial insurance arm of the global reinsurer. Sam leads the company’s US operations for P&C. She is a global technology and operations executive with more than 20 years of experience. Her work centers on enterprise transformation, AI, automation, and operational excellence. Sam Santiago speaks at the 2026 InsurTech Spring Conference on the panel “Improving Data Quality in an AI World,” moderated by Paul Tyler, alongside Isaac Espinoza, James Riviezzo, and Sarika Gupta.
Before Swiss Re, Sam was Global Chief Operating Officer at Datavant. She led payer operations with direct P&L responsibility and a global team of 2,000. She drove automation and innovation across the business. She first joined the company as Senior Vice President of Technology Transformation.
Sam spent nearly six years at Farmers Insurance. She served as Vice President and Head of Claims Strategy and Automation. Earlier, she led personal lines operations strategy there. Before Farmers, she spent four years at Liberty Mutual Insurance. She was a Director of Strategy and Operational Excellence for commercial and personal insurance claims.
Sam’s career began in operations and process improvement. She worked at Toyota North America as an operational excellence manager and Kaizen coach. She is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from her years at Staples. She also serves on the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council.
Sam earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management and Operations from Worcester State University.
