Rohit Makhijani is an insurance and financial services leader focused on innovation and technology. He most recently led insurance and wealth management research and advisory at Forrester. Forrester is a leading global research and advisory firm. There he advised on business strategy, operations, and technology. His expertise spans insurtech, fintech, venture investing, AI, and data analytics. Rohit Makhijani spoke at the 2025 InsurTech Spring Conference on the panel “Embedded in Commercial Lines,” alongside Darnella Schutzman, Tobias Milchereit, Todd Rissel, and Gabriel Weiss.
Rohit has built a career across operating, investing, and advisory roles. He was Senior Vice President at Truist Ventures. There he led venture investments in fintech and insurtech startups. He provided strategic capital and guided founders through board roles.
Rohit also served as Chief Operating Officer of VoyageWorks. He led the business from concept to cash flow positive. His work there spanned product, engineering, finance, sales, and marketing. He later served as a Senior Advisor and Board Member for the company.
Earlier, Rohit spent more than seven years at RMS, the catastrophe risk modeling firm. He served as Director of Consulting. He advised on insurtech ventures and helped shape RMS(one), a cloud-based risk analytics platform. He worked closely with top re/insurers to define the product.
Rohit earned an MBA from the Ivey Business School at Western University. He also holds a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Guelph.
