Robert Huntsman is the Chief Data Officer at iCapital. iCapital is a leading fintech platform for alternative and structured investments. Robert leads the firm’s data and AI strategy. He is a data and AI executive with deep experience building enterprise AI capabilities. His expertise spans AI strategy, data engineering, analytics, and governance. Robert Huntsman spoke at the 2023 InsurTech Spring Conference on the panel “Conquering Unstructured Data with InsurTechs,” alongside Lisa Wardlaw, Swatee Singh, and Michael Levin.
Before iCapital, Robert spent more than four years at Prudential Financial. He served as Chief Data Scientist and Head of Enterprise Analytics. There he built a 150-person AI organization. That team delivered more than $100 million in additional annual profit. His AI models reshaped underwriting, pricing, distribution, and fraud mitigation. He was also selected to help create HighPeak, a Prudential-backed AI venture.
Earlier, Robert was Global Head of AI at Synechron, a financial technology consultancy. He grew a small AI unit into a 60-person team across 12 countries. He won more than a dozen competitive engagements against major consulting firms. Before that, he led quantitative strategy at KANERAI, a structured finance analytics firm.
Robert earned an AB in Quantitative Economics from Stanford University, elected Phi Beta Kappa as a junior. He also holds an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, which he attended on a full scholarship. He is a CFA charterholder and a certified Financial Risk Manager.
