Raj Kalahasthi is the Founder and CEO of Catalyx Advisory. Through Catalyx, he helps enterprises turn AI ambition into measurable outcomes. He also advises early and growth-stage firms on product strategy and traction. His focus is removing friction across the insurance value chain. He was named the 2025 National ORBIE CIO of the Year. Lorenzo.
Before founding Catalyx, Raj was Chief Digital and Information Officer at The Baldwin Group. Baldwin is one of the fastest-growing insurance brokerages in the United States. He led the technology that scaled it from a regional firm to a $1.5 billion national business. He designed the digital operating model behind that growth. He integrated more than 35 acquisitions onto a modern digital backbone. He also launched embedded insurance distribution channels and co-led the company’s AI-enabled Broker of the Future initiative.
Raj spent nearly nine years at Comerica Bank. He served as Chief Information Officer for Retail, Treasury, and Wealth Management. There he modernized the treasury suite and launched digital deposit and lending channels. Earlier, he led the bank’s enterprise project management office. He also held senior technology roles at Citi, HSBC, and General Electric.
Raj earned an MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. He also holds an MS in Information Systems from BITS Pilani. He is a US patent holder and a multiple-time CIO of the Year honoree.
