Michael Konialian is the Founder and CEO of Modern Life. Modern Life is an AI-driven life insurance brokerage. Its platform helps top firms and advisors give better advice with a superior client experience. The company aims to do this at scale and in a fraction of the time. Modern Life has raised $35 million in funding, led by Thrive Capital, New York Life, and Northwestern Mutual. Michael Konialian spoke at the 2025 InsurTech Spring Conference on the panel “Making Financial Planners your Ally,” moderated by Jason Gross, alongside Larry Krasner, Bill Cohen, and Sharon Rodriguez.

Michael founded Modern Life in 2021. His focus is bringing advanced AI and brokerage tools to life insurance advisors. The goal is to modernize how life insurance is sold and serviced.

Before Modern Life, Michael was VP and General Manager at CoverWallet. He started and led the company’s agent-distributed business. He supported its exit to Aon and led digital partnerships across Aon’s businesses. He also drove foundational product launches, including its checkout platform and carrier integrations.

Earlier, Michael was an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company. He led teams focused on growth strategy and digital transformation in financial services. He also served as a Foreign Affairs Officer at the US Department of State. There he worked on nuclear nonproliferation and climate change.

Michael earned an MBA from Harvard Business School. He also holds a BS in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University.
