Marie-Christine Razaire is a Principal at Northwestern Mutual Future Ventures. Future Ventures is the corporate venture capital arm of Northwestern Mutual. Marie-Christine invests in and works with early-stage insurtech and fintech startups. She brings a strong underwriting and innovation background to her investing. She has worked across both the carrier and venture sides of insurance. Marie-Christine has spent more than seven years with Northwestern Mutual Future Ventures. She joined as an Associate and was promoted to Principal in 2022. She sources, evaluates, and supports investments in emerging technology companies. Her focus areas include insurtech and fintech.
Before Northwestern Mutual, Marie-Christine was a Scouting Manager at State Farm. Earlier, she spent more than three years at Validus Group. She began there as a property underwriter and moved into innovation. She launched pilots with insurtech startups and briefed the C-suite on technology trends. She also worked briefly as a fintech and insurtech underwriter. She began her career as a property underwriter associate at Hudson Insurance Group.
Marie-Christine earned a BS in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences from McGill University. She was also a varsity rower there. Her scientific background informs her analytical approach to risk and investing.
