Manisha Dias is the Head of New Business Development at Somerset Re. Somerset Re is a Bermuda-based life and annuity reinsurer. Manisha leads the growth of the organization globally. She is a credentialed actuary with deep experience in reinsurance and partnerships. Her career centers on developing tailored insurance solutions and closing the coverage gap. Manisha Dias spoke at the 2023 InsurTech Spring Conference on the panel “Bringing New Products to Market Quickly,” alongside Stacey Brown, Marie-Christine Razaire, Will Wood, and Greg Beaumont.
Before Somerset Re, Manisha spent more than six years at SCOR. She served as VP and Head of Partnerships. She co-founded and led that business, owning its P&L, marketing, and client activity. The partnerships business developed tailored insurance solutions with insurers, distributors, and insurtechs. Its goal was to increase access, affordability, and relevance across the US market. She began at SCOR as a Director and Actuary in business development.
Manisha is active in the actuarial and insurance community. She chaired the Marketing and Distribution Section Council of the Society of Actuaries. She also served on the board of the Society of Insurance Research. Her volunteer work has included a community health center in Toronto.
Manisha earned a Bachelor of Mathematics in Actuarial Science with Finance from the University of Waterloo. She completed it through the university’s co-op program.
