Steve Dresner is an insurance industry executive with deep expertise in excess and surplus lines, programs, and reinsurance. He most recently served as President and a Board Member of Everspan Group. At Everspan, he built a specialty insurance program operation from the ground up. His focus was underwriting discipline, pricing adequacy, and program oversight. That work spanned property, casualty, and professional lines. He first joined the company as its Chief Underwriting and Reinsurance Officer. Steve Dresner spoke at the 2025 InsurTech Spring Conference in the keynote session “The Next Gen Carrier Model,” alongside David Gritz, Jay Jackson, and Steve Shaffer.
Before Everspan, Steve spent more than six years at Crum & Forster. He served as Senior Vice President for Affiliates, Partnerships, and Programs. He also led business development and corporate reinsurance across the organization. He developed new lines of business and oversaw ceded reinsurance company-wide.
Steve spent a decade at Endurance as an Executive Vice President. There he led brokerage operations for its specialty underwriting business. He also headed treaty casualty for the reinsurance arm. Earlier, he was Casualty Practice Leader at HartRe, The Hartford’s reinsurance unit. He began his career at Gen Re, where he spent 17 years as a casualty underwriter and branch manager.
Steve holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Clark University. He also earned a BA in Economics, Cum Laude, from Clark University.
