Rick Zullo is a General Partner at Equal Ventures, a seed-stage venture fund based in New York City. At Equal Ventures, Rick focuses on investing in overlooked markets and backing mission-driven founders who are redefining legacy industries. He brings a strong background in early-stage investing and a passion for supporting entrepreneurs solving foundational problems.

Prior to co-founding Equal Ventures, Rick was a Principal at Lightbank and an investor at Bowery Capital. His career in venture capital is shaped by a hands-on approach and deep operational insight, drawn from his experience working with startups and his MBA from Columbia Business School. Rick’s portfolio includes companies across sectors like insurance, supply chain, and the built world—industries that have long been underserved by traditional venture models.

Rick is also a past investor in the InsurTech NY Match Program, a premier platform connecting top-tier investors with high-growth insurtech startups. He participated alongside other leading venture capitalists, including Andrew Wegrzyn, Principal at SixThirty Ventures, and Adam Blumencranz, Vice President at NFP Ventures. His involvement reflects his ongoing commitment to advancing innovation in the insurance technology space.

A firm believer in the power of community-driven investing, Rick regularly shares insights on venture trends and founder support. Through Equal Ventures, he continues to champion startups that are reimagining how industries operate, with a focus on scalable, sustainable business models.
