Kyle Beatty is the Chief Operating Officer of Forge. He is an experienced operator, investor, and founder across insurtech, proptech, and climate tech. For eight years, he was a Partner at American Family Ventures, a major insurtech venture firm. He has served on numerous startup boards as a director and advisor. He brings both investor and operator perspectives to the insurance industry. Kyle Beatty spoke at the 2023 InsurTech Spring Conference on the panel “Embedded Insurance at the Point of Sale,” alongside Eric Weisburg, John Riggs, Russell Isaacson, and Chuck Gomez.
At the time of his InsurTech NY appearance, Kyle was a Partner at American Family Ventures. He served on the investment committee for around 150 investment decisions across three funds. He personally championed roughly 50 investments totaling over $150 million. He also sat on 18 venture-backed company boards.
Kyle is also a startup founder. He founded Paper Crane, a geospatial AI platform. He negotiated its acquisition by the tax analytics company Avalara. Earlier, he spent seven years at Verisk. He served as President of Verisk Climate and as a senior leader in Verisk Insurance Solutions.
Kyle holds MS and BS degrees from the University of Oklahoma. He also completed the Global Solutions Program at Singularity University. He is an endurance athlete with a focus on climate and ecosystems.
