Kristin Applegate is the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Berkley Construction Solutions. Berkley Construction Solutions is a W. R. Berkley company focused on construction insurance. Kristin leads technology strategy for the business. She brings more than two decades of experience in insurance operations and technology. Her background spans operations, underwriting services, and administration. Kristin Applegate spoke at the 2023 InsurTech Spring Conference on the panel “Workflow Automation across the Value Chain – Tech + Humans,” alongside Kaenan Hertz, Roseanne Laudisio, Mark Smith, and Jake Sloan.
Kristin has led technology at Berkley Construction Solutions since 2022. She oversees the company’s information systems and technology strategy. Her focus is supporting a specialty construction insurance business.
Before Berkley, Kristin spent more than 16 years at Starr Companies. She rose to Chief Administration Officer. Earlier roles there included Senior Director of Operations and Director of the Underwriting Services Division. That long tenure gave her deep operations and underwriting expertise.
Kristin began her insurance career at C.V. Starr and American International Group. She held business analyst and service roles early on. That foundation shaped her operations and technology career.
Kristin earned a BS in International Business from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
