Barath Narayanan is Global Head of the BFSI Unit and Head of the Europe Region at Persistent Systems. At Persistent, Barath leads offerings and solutions across banking, financial services, and insurance globally. He also leads all industry segments across the European region. His focus is on driving growth and profitability for the company’s BFSI business. Barath spoke at our 2026 InsurTech Spring Conference on “Bridging the Modernization Gap: From Legacy to Agentic,” alongside Yussef Fakira.
Barath Narayanan brings more than two decades of experience in financial services technology and consulting. Before Persistent, Barath spent over 23 years at Wipro. He most recently served as Global Head of Wipro Digital and Cloud Services. There, he led a service line spanning application modernization, cloud migration, and digital consulting. That division contributed more than 20% of the organization’s revenue.
Earlier at Wipro, Barath held a series of senior leadership roles across Europe and financial services. He served as Chief Operating Officer for Wipro Europe and as Continental Europe Geo Head. Before that, he led Wipro’s financial services business in Continental Europe and its Swiss banking unit. Earlier still, he built Wipro’s global domain consulting and advisory services for capital markets. He began his career at Wipro in development, business analysis, and client engagement roles.
Barath Narayanan holds an MS in Software Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. He also completed a leadership program at INSEAD. For an insurtech audience, Barath brings a global technology leader’s perspective on insurance and financial services modernization, legacy transformation, cloud and digital services, agentic AI, and large-scale business change.
