Nanditha Nandy

Nanditha Nandy is the Head of AI Underwriting Practices at The Hartford. The Hartford is a leading provider of property and casualty insurance and employee benefits. Nanditha leads agentic AI-driven underwriting transformation for the Global Specialty business. Her work spans ten lines and hundreds of products. She is a strategic leader with a track record across life, health, and P&C insurance. Nanditha Nandy spoke at the 2024 InsurTech Spring Conference on the panel “Increasing Speed of Underwriting,” alongside Sophie Norman, Scott Hawkins, and Natasha Alexeeva.

Before The Hartford, Nanditha spent nearly ten years at Swiss Re. She most recently served as SVP and Head of Global Data Driven Underwriting Solutions. She owned digital underwriting products across APAC, EMEA, and North America. She led the design and delivery of “Underwriting Ease,” a product that summarizes data into a single view for underwriters. She managed global teams, P&L, and executive stakeholders.

Nanditha built her Swiss Re career in data science. She began as a Data Scientist and rose to lead data science and analytics teams. She worked on medical analytics and next-generation underwriting solutions. That foundation shaped her expertise in responsible AI and data-driven innovation.

Earlier, Nanditha worked in product data science at Salesforce. She also spent two years at Capgemini as a consultant and software engineer. She earned a master’s degree in Business Analytics from the University of Connecticut, with a 4.0 GPA. She also holds engineering degrees from Anna University in India.
