Bamboo Files for an IPO as InsurTech Tests the Public Markets Again

Bamboo Insurance Services filed a registration statement with the SEC for a proposed initial public offering of its Class A common stock. The homeowners insurance MGU plans to list on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol BMB.

Bamboo manages nearly $900 million in premium and reported approximately $173 million in revenue for the first half of 2026. The filing comes after CVC acquired a controlling stake in the business in 2025 in a transaction that valued Bamboo at approximately $1.75 billion.

Aon Nears a Reported $17 Billion Deal for USI

Aon is reportedly close to acquiring USI Insurance Services from KKR in a transaction valued at approximately $17 billion including debt.

The transaction had not been finalized as of August 30, but reports indicated that an announcement could come as soon as the following day. USI generates approximately $3 billion in annual revenue and is a major player in the U.S. middle-market brokerage sector.

Marsh Puts $10 Billion of Capacity Behind Data Center Risk

Marsh launched Stratus, a new property insurance exchange offering access to up to $10 billion in capacity on a single-placement basis for operational digital infrastructure risks.

The platform is designed primarily for data centers and related critical infrastructure. Thirty traditional and alternative capital providers will participate, with each evaluating risks individually.

Sun Life and Wilton Re Put $900 Million Behind Windsor Life Re

Sun Life and Wilton Re announced a strategic reinsurance and asset management partnership that will establish Windsor Life Re, a new U.S. and Bermuda-domiciled reinsurer.

The partnership is expected to deploy approximately $900 million in capital. Windsor Life Re will initially reinsure a roughly $1.7 billion in-force block from Wilton Re and is expected to grow toward approximately $10 billion in assets at scale.

Tokio Marine HCC Buys Major UK Motor MGA Direct Commercial

Tokio Marine HCC International signed an agreement to acquire Direct Commercial Limited, one of the UK’s leading specialist commercial motor MGAs.

Direct Commercial writes more than £200 million in gross written premium and has more than 200 employees. The acquisition gives Tokio Marine HCC International a new line of business in UK commercial motor insurance.

Gatik Raises $200 Million as Driverless Freight Scales

Autonomous trucking company Gatik raised $200 million in Series D financing led by Qatar Investment Authority and Koch Disruptive Technologies, with participation from Millennium Management, ARK Invest, Intact Private Capital and others.

Gatik says it has more than $600 million in contracted revenue, has completed 85,000 fully driverless orders and maintains a 99% on-time delivery rate across its commercial operations.

Corgi Launches an Admitted Insurance Carrier

Corgi Insurance launched Corgi Insurance Company, Inc., expanding its structure with an admitted commercial insurance carrier.

The company already operates risk retention groups, reinsurers, captives and managing general agencies. Its new admitted carrier broadens the types of risks it can write and may give eligible policyholders access to state guaranty association protections, subject to applicable limits and exclusions.

Corgi has filed initial products targeting technology companies, professional offices, retail businesses, restaurants, wholesalers, apartment buildings and other small-business risks.
