Accelerant Goes Private in $4 Billion Thoma Bravo Deal

Thoma Bravo agreed to acquire specialty insurance platform Accelerant in an all-cash transaction with an enterprise value of more than $4 billion.

Shareholders will receive $20.25 per share, representing a 49% premium to Accelerant’s closing price on August 12. Following completion of the transaction, Accelerant will become a privately held company.

Verisk’s $2.35 Billion AccuLynx Deal Is Back From the Dead

A Delaware Chancery Court ruling revived Verisk’s proposed $2.35 billion acquisition of AccuLynx after finding that Verisk’s attempted termination of the transaction was invalid.

AccuLynx provides workflow software used heavily by roofing contractors and businesses involved in property restoration and claims. The transaction still faces regulatory review.

Axle raised $17.5 million in Series A funding led by Base10 Partners, with continued participation from Y Combinator and Gradient Ventures.

The company is building infrastructure that automates insurance verification and says its platform now verifies more than $100 billion in insurance coverage annually for over 4,000 businesses.

FM Acquires FortressFire as Wildfire Risk Becomes Core Insurance Infrastructure

Commercial property insurer FM acquired FortressFire, a wildfire intelligence company combining machine learning with physics-based modeling.

FortressFire provides structure-specific wildfire assessments, monitoring, inspections, analytics and mitigation recommendations. The business will continue operating as an independent, wholly owned division of FM.

Big ‘I’ Says Agency Growth Is Cooling as the P&C Market Softens

The 2026 Big ‘I’ and Reagan Consulting Best Practices Study found that organic growth slowed in six of seven agency revenue categories as the P&C pricing environment continued to soften.

Organic growth ranged from 6.2% to 10.2%, compared with 8.7% to 11.3% in 2025. Profitability remained strong, with pro forma EBITDA margins ranging from 23.2% to 30.7%.
