Vishal Jain is the Vice President of Corporate Strategy at Unum. Unum is a leading provider of workplace benefits, including disability, life, and supplemental insurance. Vishal helps shape the company’s enterprise strategy and growth priorities. He is a financial services executive with deep experience across insurance, retirement, and asset management. His expertise spans corporate strategy, business development, digital product management, and employee benefits. Vishal Jain spoke at the InsurTech Spring Conference on the panel “Leveraging Third Party Data to Improve Health and Wellness,” alongside Dominique Roudaut of MS&AD, Kendall Miller Crocker of SCOR, and Jordan Wright of Atomic.
Before Unum, Vishal served as a contract consultant to Guardian Life’s Individual Markets leadership team. He helped frame the unit’s 2030 strategy and drive growth across life, disability, and annuities. Prior to that, he spent more than 15 years at Prudential Financial. He most recently served there as Vice President and Managing Director of Enterprise Strategic Relationship Management. In that role he partnered with Prudential’s CIO on its largest technology partnerships.
At Prudential, Vishal also built and led the company’s financial wellness business. As Head of Financial Wellness, he ran the P&L and a team of more than 20 people. He created an industry-leading offering that helped drive three years of record defined-contribution sales. The work earned him a promotion into Prudential’s roughly 200 top global executives. Earlier, he led strategy and planning for Prudential’s $5 billion-plus Group Insurance business. There he designed a turnaround that delivered more than $200 million in earnings improvement.
Vishal began his strategy career as an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company. He advised insurance, wealth management, asset management, and retirement clients. Before consulting, he worked in product management in the high-tech industry. He earned an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University.
