Tomer Kashi is the Co-Founder and CEO of VOOM Insurance. VOOM is an insurtech pioneer in usage-based insurance for mobility. It serves segments that are often underserved. These range from drones and light aircraft to motorcycles, e-bikes, rideshare, delivery, and fleets. At its core is the VOOM CORE platform. It combines telematics-based risk analytics, a cloud policy admin system, and modern distribution tools. Tomer also co-founded SkyWatch, the leading commercial drone insurance product in the U.S. He built VOOM from an idea into a company serving tens of thousands of customers. Tomer spoke at a past InsurTechNY event.
Under Tomer’s leadership, VOOM has partnered with insurance carriers across the US, Canada, and Europe. Its products include SkyWatch for drones, VOOM & RIDE for pay-per-mile motorcycle insurance, and VOOM & Drive for rideshare and delivery drivers. The VOOM CORE lets the team build new, data-driven insurance products quickly. That speed matters in fast-emerging mobility segments.
Before VOOM, Tomer Kashi worked in an elite cyber unit within the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office. He led large-scale, interdisciplinary technology projects. One of those projects earned the prestigious Israel Defense Prize. He began as a hands-on developer and grew into leading teams of engineers and analysts.
Tomer is a graduate of Talpiot, the Israeli military’s elite academic program. He holds a BSc in Computer Science and Physics. He also earned an MBA, magna cum laude, from Tel Aviv University. He is an FAA-certified drone pilot as well.
