Tarik Galijasevic

Allstate Strategic Ventures

Tarik Galijasevic is the Managing Director of Allstate Strategic Ventures, Allstate’s corporate venture capital group. He leads the team’s investments in insurance and insurance-adjacent startups. His work covers sourcing, structuring, negotiating, and monitoring venture investments. These investments are chosen for their strategic value to Allstate. Over his career, Tarik has executed more than 40 transactions worth over $30 billion. Tarik spoke at a past InsurTechNY event.

Tarik Galijasevic has led Allstate Strategic Ventures since 2013. Before focusing on venture investments, he worked on corporate strategy and M&A. He helped lead buy-side and sell-side deals for the company. This included Allstate’s $1.4 billion acquisition of SquareTrade. He also structured partnerships and joint ventures. He serves as a board member or observer for several portfolio companies.

Tarik began his career at JPMorgan’s investment bank. There he focused on private equity and M&A transactions. He was a senior member of the firm’s global shipping team and covered clients worldwide. He ranked at the top of his associate class and was promoted ahead of schedule. He later helped build a boutique advisory firm from the ground up. He also taught finance and valuation as an instructor at the Investment Banking Institute.

Tarik holds an MBA with concentrations in Entrepreneurship, Finance, and International Business from IIT Stuart School of Business. He also earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
