Semsee

Philip Charles-Pierre is the Co-Founder and CEO of Semsee. Semsee is a technology platform that connects insurance agents with carriers. It delivers quotes and key coverage information at the point of sale. His focus is making the small commercial insurance sales process faster and more efficient. He has a long history of building companies that help small and mid-sized businesses compete. Philip Charles-Pierre spoke at the 2024 InsurTech Spring Conference on the panel “Driving Digital Growth in Specialty & Commercial,” alongside Roi Hansraj, Wendi Bukowitz, and Andrew Wynn.

Philip founded Semsee in 2017. The company is backed by investors including D.E. Shaw and Nephila. Its goal is the simplest path from lead to quote for independent agents. He believes the fewer screens an agent needs, the better. His team works to partner with other tools so agents can serve clients from one place.

Before Semsee, Philip was Senior Vice President of Marketing and Distribution at Smarter Agent. Smarter Agent was a mobile search tool used by leading real estate franchises and was later acquired by Keller Williams. He also co-founded and led Opus.me. Earlier, he was Vice President of Digital Media at Guideposts.

Philip built his early career in travel and hospitality technology. He worked at Site59, Travelocity, and Starwood Hotels, building B2B platforms. That background shaped his approach to digital distribution.

Philip studied at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He also earned a master’s degree from Harvard University.
