Paul Prendergast is the CEO and Co-Founder of Kayna. Kayna connects insurance brokers and carriers to vertical SaaS platforms that serve small businesses. Its infrastructure handles digital distribution, compliance, and AI-powered policy analysis. That lets partners embed commercial insurance into their channels without building the technology themselves. Paul is a repeat founder based in Cork, Ireland. Paul Prendergast pitched Kayna as a finalist in the Global Early-Stage Startup Competition at the 2023 InsurTech Spring Conference.
Paul founded Kayna in 2021. The company runs embedded insurance programs across the UK and US, including with WTW. Its verticals include franchise, supply chain, security, and equine. It closed a seed round in early 2026.
Paul is a serial entrepreneur with a strong insurtech track record. He previously co-founded Blink Parametric. Blink helps insurers launch parametric solutions, starting in the travel space. It was acquired by CPP Group in 2017. He continued to build the Blink Parametric business and drive innovation across the group.
Earlier, Paul co-founded Inhance Technology, a leader in mobile device security and anti-theft solutions. The company worked with insurance, warranty, and telecom partners globally. It was acquired by Blancco Technology Group. He also built and ran a successful internet and call-shop chain earlier in his career.
Paul studied at University College Cork, earning a Bachelor of Commerce. He also completed the Accelerated Growth Programme at the University of Cambridge.
