Matt Sternberg is the Chief Operating Officer of Accelerant’s Risk Exchange at Accelerant. Accelerant is a data-driven insurance platform. Its Risk Exchange empowers specialty underwriters and connects them with risk capital. Matt leads operations for that business. He brings a strong strategy and finance background to the role. Matt spoke at a past InsurTechNY event.
Before Accelerant, Matt spent 12 years at Boston Consulting Group. He was a Managing Director and Partner. He served as the North American people and team leader for the firm’s insurance practice. That role gave him deep experience advising insurers on strategy and operations.
Matt began his career in finance. He worked in the investment banking division at Goldman Sachs. That foundation shaped his understanding of capital and deal structure, which is central to his work connecting underwriters with risk capital.
Matt earned an MBA from The Wharton School. He also holds a BSE in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University, where he graduated with distinction. He minored in economics.
