Before launching Armadillo, Matan spent nearly a decade at AIG, where he held senior leadership roles including Managing Director and Head of Market Disruption for Personal Insurance. There, he led transformative efforts to reimagine the insurance experience by driving partnerships, embedding new technologies, and launching innovative propositions across global personal lines. His previous roles also include Chief of Staff to AIG’s Personal Insurance CEO, giving him deep strategic exposure to a $10B+ portfolio spanning homeowners, auto, travel, and warranty products.
Earlier in his career, Matan held actuarial and pricing roles at SCOR and Mercer, building the analytical foundation that informs his sharp product instincts and customer-centric approach. He is a proud graduate of Binghamton University, where he earned degrees in Economics and Mathematics and received the Guardian Award for a perfect score on Actuarial Exam P.
