Marya Propis is the President of Retail Distribution at RT Specialty. RT Specialty is the largest US property and casualty wholesale broker, part of Ryan Specialty. Marya is a sales and distribution executive with a long record of leading businesses for major financial services companies. She defines and drives distribution and business development priorities for the firm. She is known as a natural team builder and a champion of talent development. Marya Propis speaks at the 2026 InsurTech Spring Conference on the panel “Making Tech Work for Aging Agents,” moderated by Jeff Cohen, alongside Anne Hasenstab, Rob Bowen, and Chris Boedeker.
Marya has spent nearly six years at RT Specialty. She rose through senior distribution roles to President of Retail Distribution in 2026. She manages retail broker trading relationships in an executive capacity. She joined through the merger of All Risks and Ryan Specialty, where she had led distribution and broker partnerships.
Before All Risks, Marya spent years at AIG. She served as SVP and Head of Broker Engagement. Earlier, she was Head of Distribution Management at Lexington Insurance Company, an AIG company. There she managed major brokerage relationships and property distribution strategies. She also served as a Regional Industry Practice Officer for AIG Property Casualty.
Marya earned a BA in English and Communications from Canisius University.
Marya is a returning InsurTech NY participant. She also spoke at a past InsurTech NY event in 2019 on customer engagement and the future of distribution.
