Marya Propis is Executive Vice President of Retail Distribution at RT Specialty, a leading wholesale distributor of specialty insurance products and services. With over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, Marya is a highly respected sales and distribution executive known for her leadership in retail broker engagement, go‑to‑market strategy, and distribution growth.

At RT Specialty, Marya oversees retail distribution strategy and execution, working closely with executive leadership, national practice leaders, and field teams to deepen market presence and strengthen relationships with retail brokers and network clients. Her expertise spans growth and sales strategies, the development and delivery of sales training programs, and management of preferred national wholesale and book roll initiatives across both domestic commercial and personal lines segments, with significant depth in the excess & surplus lines market.

Marya joined RT Specialty in 2020 when Ryan Specialty acquired All Risks, Ltd., then one of the largest privately owned wholesale brokers in the U.S. Prior to that, she spent 13 years with AIG, and began her insurance career in 1995 in her hometown of Buffalo, New York.

A graduate of Canisius College with a Bachelor of Arts degree, Marya has also served as a Trustee of her alma mater. She is actively involved in industry leadership and talent development initiatives, including board service with the Spencer Educational Foundation and participation on the steering committee for Ryan Specialty’s WOW! (Women. Opportunity. Winning.) initiative, which champions women in leadership and emerging talent across the industry.
