Marianne Hood is a technology leader with significant global experience in financial services. Her background spans investment banking, retail, private wealth, and brokerage. She is currently Group Head of Infrastructure at Butterfield Group, a financial services company. Before that, she spent four years as a chief information officer in the insurance industry. She brings deep expertise in technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital transformation. Marianne spoke at a past InsurTechNY event.
Marianne’s most insurance-relevant experience is her time at BF&M Limited. She served as Chief Information Officer and Chief Information Security Officer for four years. BF&M is a Bermuda-based insurance and financial services company. There she led technology strategy, infrastructure, and security for the business.
Before BF&M, Marianne was Head of Business Enablement for US Technology at BMO Financial Group. Earlier, she was SVP and Chief Operating Officer of Technology Infrastructure at E*TRADE. That role gave her deep experience running technology for a major brokerage.
Marianne is a Chartered Accountant and a CPA in Nova Scotia. She earned a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from Saint Mary’s University, graduating cum laude. She also completed continuing education at Georgia State University.
