Julie Pearce is an accomplished regulatory and insurance expert serving as Holding Company Specialist at the Iowa Department of Insurance & Financial Services (IDIFS). In this pivotal role, Julie focuses on international insurance group strategy, risk management, group capital calculation, financial performance, and oversight of Group Supervisory Colleges for Internationally Active Insurance Groups (IAIGs), working closely with U.S. and international regulators to drive financial stability and effective supervision.

With more than 16 years of experience in the financial services industry, Julie brings deep insight into corporate transformation, business strategy, and regulatory affairs. Prior to joining the Iowa Department of Insurance & Financial Services, she held leadership roles in the private sector, including serving as Vice President and Chief Business Development and Transformation Officer at Wellabe. She began her professional journey in public accounting with Ernst & Young (EY), where she developed a strong foundation in financial analysis and compliance.

Julie earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and Finance, and a Master’s degree in Investment Management and Financial Analysis, both from Creighton University. This academic background complements her practical experience supervising complex financial structures and advising insurers on strategic holding company issues.

A respected voice in the insurance regulatory community, Julie also serves as Co-Chair and Chief Content Officer of the Global Insurance Symposium, one of the industry’s foremost convenings of insurance professionals, regulators, and innovators. Her leadership helps shape program content that drives collaboration on emerging industry trends, regulatory developments, and opportunities in a rapidly changing global insurance market.
