John Gorman is a veteran InsurTech entrepreneur, operator, and strategic advisor with over 30 years of experience shaping the technology landscape of the life insurance industry. He is currently Principal at Cape Worthington LLC, where he provides consulting to life insurers and early-stage InsurTech companies on digital transformation, core system strategy, and operational scale.
John is best known for co-founding FAST, a core systems provider that became one of the most trusted platforms in the life and annuity space. As COO and board member for over a decade, he played an instrumental role in the company’s growth—from managing operations, contracts, and implementations to spearheading sales and client relationships—culminating in FAST’s acquisition by Verisk for $194 million in 2019.
Earlier in his career, John served in executive roles at NaviSys, another pioneering life insurance technology firm acquired by Accenture. There, he helped lead NaviSys through multiple ownership transitions, including a $65 million exit, while managing its consulting services, software implementations, and strategic partnerships. He went on to become a partner at Accenture, working on transformational initiatives for top-tier life insurers.
Today, through Cape Worthington LLC, John supports digital modernization efforts across the insurance value chain, including leadership on two of the most strategic FAST implementations to date. He also advises private equity firms on InsurTech investments and mentors early-stage startups—drawing from firsthand experience scaling and exiting high-growth ventures.
With a rare combination of operational rigor, M&A acumen, and industry-specific insight, John continues to influence the future of life insurance technology from both sides of the table: as a builder and a strategic advisor.
