Greg Hendrick serves as Chief Executive Officer of Vantage Risk (Vantage), a forward-looking specialty insurance and reinsurance firm built on the pillars of talent, technology, and creative data-driven underwriting.
With more than 35 years of deep industry experience, Greg brings seasoned leadership and hands-on underwriting expertise to Vantage’s mission to “see risk differently.” Before founding Vantage, he served as CEO of AXA XL — the property & casualty and specialty risk division of AXA — and prior to that held senior executive roles across numerous companies in the XL Group over 25 years, including Chief Executive of Reinsurance, Chief Executive of Insurance, and Chief Underwriting Officer for XL Re Ltd. His career started at AIG, followed by a reinsurance underwriting stint at Winterthur Re — experiences that laid a strong foundation in global re/insurance markets.
Under Greg’s leadership, Vantage Risk was launched in 2020 with a clean balance sheet and a mission to deliver specialty re/insurance and insurance-linked securities products tailored to complex global risks. Greg champions a data-driven, technology-enabled underwriting philosophy — enabling Vantage to tackle hard-to-place risks that other insurers avoid, leveraging analytics, creativity, and a fresh approach to capacity and risk insights.
In addition to his role at Vantage, Greg was appointed as an independent director of Verisk Analytics in 2024, reflecting his recognized industry acumen and strategic insight into evolving re/insurance dynamics.
