Greg Hendrick is Chief Executive Officer of Vantage Group, a leading specialty re/insurance and insurance‑linked securities platform built on deep underwriting expertise and innovative risk solutions. As CEO, Greg guides Vantage’s mission to “see risk differently,” harnessing analytics, talent and technology to deliver specialty insurance, reinsurance and bespoke capacity to complex global markets.
Greg brings more than 35 years of insurance and reinsurance leadership to his role at Vantage. Prior to co‑founding and leading Vantage, he served as Chief Executive Officer of AXA XL, the property & casualty and specialty risk division of AXA, where he oversaw global operations and strategic growth across core commercial and specialty lines.
Before his tenure at AXA XL, Greg spent 25 years with XL Group companies, holding senior leadership positions across reinsurance and insurance businesses—including Chief Executive of Reinsurance, Chief Executive of Insurance, Executive Vice President of Strategic Growth, President & Chief Underwriting Officer for XL Re Ltd, and Vice President of US Property Underwriting at XL Mid Ocean Re. These roles reflect his extensive experience in underwriting management, portfolio strategy and business transformation.
Greg began his career in the re/insurance industry with leadership and underwriting roles at AIG and Winterthur Re, laying a foundation of technical expertise and an analytical approach that continues to inform his strategic leadership at Vantage.
Under his leadership, Vantage has emerged as a dynamic insurer with a clean balance sheet and a focus on specialty capacity and innovation—responding to market needs with disciplined underwriting and modern risk insights.
Greg holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from St. John’s University and also serves on the Board of Governors of St. John’s University and the Board of Overseers of the Greenberg School of Risk Management, demonstrating his commitment to both industry and academic development.
