Dr. Christy Lane is a seasoned Venture Partner at IA Capital, a leading New York-based insurtech and fintech venture capital firm. In her role, Christy brings deep domain expertise in data analytics, wearable device technology, health and exercise science, lifestyle medicine, and mortality risk modeling to advance IA Capital’s investment thesis and support portfolio companies, particularly in life and health insurance innovation.

At IA Capital, Christy advises on data product development and strategies for penetrating the life insurance vertical while working closely with portfolio companies to enhance customer engagement through wellness and lifestyle insights. Her unique blend of scientific research and entrepreneurial experience positions her at the forefront of the insurance technology ecosystem.

Christy is also the Co-Founder of FLORA, where she and her team are building the first direct-to-consumer fertility insurance product on the market. Her work at FLORA focuses on making fertility care more accessible by integrating innovative insurance solutions with community-driven education and support.

An award-winning exercise scientist, Christy is a founding member of the Stanford Wearable Health Lab and holds academic appointments, including Visiting Associate Professor in Orthopaedics at Stanford University and Chair and Associate Professor of Health and Physical Education at Mount Royal University. She earned a PhD in Rehabilitation Medicine from the University of Alberta, an MSc in Exercise Physiology from Western University, and completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Rehabilitation Science at the University of Michigan.

Christy’s entrepreneurial journey includes founding Vivametrica, an insurtech company leveraging wearable data to predict disease and mortality risk. She has been recognized on Avenue Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 list and is a winner of the Female Founders of Insurtech contest.
