Angela Grant is Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary at Palomar, a publicly traded specialty insurer serving residential and commercial clients across earthquake, inland marine and other property, casualty, surety and credit, and crop insurance. At Palomar, Angela leads legal, regulatory compliance, and claims operations across a complex multi-subsidiary specialty insurance organization. She also serves as a strategic partner to Palomar’s executive officers and directors, providing legal counsel that helps minimize risk, protect the company’s reputation, and support business growth. Angela has spoken at a past InsurTech Spring Conference in New York City.
Angela Grant also helps execute and champion Palomar’s sustainability and community resilience strategy. Her work reflects a broader view of the legal function in insurance: not only managing regulatory and litigation risk, but helping the business operate with confidence, integrity, and a clear connection to the communities it serves.
Angela brings more than 35 years of insurance, legal, compliance, claims, and business experience. Before joining Palomar, Angela served as Chief Legal and Innovation Officer at CSE Insurance Group, a subsidiary of Covéa. In that role, she served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary while identifying and vetting new revenue opportunities through strategic InsurTech partnerships. She also oversaw teams responsible for regulatory compliance, quality assurance, internal audit, project management, business services, staff counsel, claims litigation, and government affairs.
Earlier, Angela Grant was Head of Compliance and Legal at Hippo Insurance, where she joined as the company’s first legal and compliance leader. At Hippo, Angela helped build the legal and regulatory foundation for a homeowners insurance business model spanning marketing, sales, underwriting, servicing, licensing, contracts, TPA workflows, and HR frameworks. She previously served as Director of Ethics and Compliance at Esurance, where she built and led a team of more than 30 regulatory compliance and legal professionals and guided regulatory execution across more than 460 multi-state insurance projects.
Angela is also Founder and Curator of Grant Grace Consulting LLC. She holds a Juris Doctorate from Texas A&M University School of Law and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of North Texas.
