Andrew Edelsberg is a veteran insurance executive and analytics professional with over 30 years of experience spanning insurance ratings, reinsurance strategy, GAAP/statutory accounting, and actuarial forecasting. He currently serves as SVP and Head of Business Development for the Life Solutions Group (LSG) at Gallagher Re, where he leads initiatives to structure asset-intensive reinsurance transactions for life and annuity companies. LSG focuses on helping carriers achieve capital optimization, sales growth, performance improvement, and strategic clarity through tailored reinsurance solutions.
Andrew’s deep technical foundation stems from his early work as an actuarial analyst and auditor. He began his career at Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC) before joining Penn Mutual as an actuarial analyst. Over the next two decades, he became a respected authority on insurer financial strength through senior roles at Moody’s, A.M. Best, and Kroll Bond Rating Agency (KBRA). At KBRA, Andrew led the development of its insurance ratings business from the ground up, producing over 100 ratings in just five years and guiding the agency to be named “Insurance Rating Agency of the Year” by Reactions Magazine.
His career also includes strategic finance roles at Kemper, where he served as Chief of Staff for the Life & Health Finance segment, and Bruce & Bruce, where he advised on ERM, capital structure, and M&A strategy. He also founded Edelsberg Consulting, advising insurers on rating agency relations and financial strategy.
Known for his cross-functional leadership, Andrew has a proven track record of managing complex projects across financial analysis, regulatory engagement, and business development. He is recognized in the industry as a trusted advisor, bringing clarity, rigor, and depth to every engagement.
