Cyber Security Warranties Providing Faster Coverage and Payouts
In the world of cyber insurance, speed is survival. But for many small businesses, a ransomware attack doesn’t just threaten their data — it threatens their ability to operate. When payouts take weeks, recovery can feel out of reach. That’s where DLT Alert is changing the game.
Founded by Brian Waltermire, a veteran of the IT services world, DLT Alert delivers micro-payouts for cyber incidents — fast, flexible, and frictionless. The platform makes good on a simple but transformative promise: if a cyberattack hits, businesses receive money within 24 hours to fund their recovery and return to service. No red tape. No delay.

“What became painfully obvious was that insurance carriers had no idea what was really happening in the trenches.”
Before starting DLT Alert, Brian ran a managed services provider (MSP) supporting small businesses across the U.S. During COVID, cyberattacks surged — and he saw his clients suffer firsthand.
“We were the ones on the front lines — responding to attacks, patching systems, trying to help these businesses stay afloat,” Brian recalls. “What became painfully obvious was that insurance carriers had no idea what was really happening in the trenches.”
Traditional policies often couldn’t respond fast enough. Coverage was complex. Underwriting was misaligned with reality. And payouts? Often stuck in months-long backlogs as adjusters tried to understand unfamiliar technical terms and attack vectors.
That disconnect became the founding insight behind DLT Alert: what if the response could come first — not last?

DLT Alert is not trying to replace cyber insurance — it’s rethinking its front end.
The platform delivers parametric cyber warranties, issuing small, targeted payouts (ranging from one thousand up to fifty thousand dollars) when specific triggers are met. For businesses, this means cash arrives within hours of an incident. For insurers and MGAs, it means improved loss ratios, faster recovery, and less friction across the board.
Key to this speed is DLT Alert’s proprietary technology. When an incident is detected — either by the company’s EDR (endpoint detection and response) tools or via a pre-integrated scoring system — a claim is automatically generated, reviewed for eligibility, and pushed to the business as a prepaid Mastercard. Alongside the payout, DLT provides a full incident report, helping companies stay compliant and respond more effectively.

One of DLT Alert’s most exciting developments is its new integration with Spektrum.ai, a security scoring platform and marketplace. Through Spektrum, any business with a verified risk score can now:
- Activate ransomware protection in 5 minutes
- Receive automated payouts tied to real-time EDR signals
- Bundle their coverage with cybersecurity tools like Sophos or Defender
By embedding protection directly into tools businesses already use, DLT Alert removes barriers and drives scale. MSPs, MGAs, and insurers can now offer turnkey warranty + security bundles, combining financial protection with best-in-class cybersecurity tools. This not only enhances user protection — it also reduces downstream cyber claims and loss ratios, creating a stronger risk profile across the board.
As Brian puts it, “This is the first time we’re seeing risk scoring and financial coverage tied together in real time. That’s a big deal.”

DLT Alert isn’t stopping at the U.S. market. The company is actively launching in Latin America, where access to traditional cyber insurance is still limited — particularly for small businesses.
Their LATAM product bundles a cyber warranty with:
- Virtual CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) support
- Incident response services
- Security scanning and assessment tools
Together, this creates a 4-in-1 cyber resilience package, embedded into partner platforms and fully digital. The rollout is beginning with strategic carrier relationships in Ecuador and other LATAM markets, where DLT’s lightweight, no-hassle model is particularly compelling.

The traditional insurance model is built on big losses and slow payouts. But the future of cyber protection may look more like DLT Alert: fast, automated, and embedded at the edge of where risk happens.
For Brian, this isn’t just a product — it’s a mission. “Cybersecurity and cyber insurance have operated in silos for too long,” he says. “We’re bringing them together to close the gap — so businesses can act fast, and recover faster.”
Over the next year, DLT Alert is focused on:
- Expanding to Ten+ major distribution partners
- Driving adoption via MGAs, MSPs, and embedded platforms
- Deepening its Spektrum.ai integration
- Promoting cyber literacy and resilience for SMBs around the globe
It’s a bold vision — one that puts cash, coverage, and confidence into the hands of businesses when they need it most.
