Garrett Koehn is the Chief Innovation Officer at CRC Insurance Services, a leading global wholesale brokerage known for its expertise in specialty insurance products. In his role as CIO, Garrett drives forward-looking strategy and innovation across the organization, focusing on advancing technology, data analytics, and solutions that enhance client outcomes and operational excellence. His deep specialization in professional lines — including Directors & Officers, Private Equity, Cyber, and Intellectual Property insurance — stems from decades of hands-on experience brokering complex risks and designing industry-leading insurance products.
Garrett began his insurance career at Marsh, where he developed the company’s first Directors & Officers liability exposure model for public companies in 1994 and has since built a reputation as a thought leader in risk modeling and exposure analytics. At CRC, he expanded this expertise by creating advanced tools for analyzing severity and susceptibility exposures, particularly for organizations navigating cybersecurity risk. Garrett’s underwriting authority with multiple A-rated carriers underscores his technical acumen and his ability to execute innovative solutions in today’s dynamic risk landscape.
A seasoned executive with more than 30 years of industry experience, Garrett also plays a significant role outside of CRC. He is actively engaged as a mentor and advisor to technology startups and venture initiatives, including partnerships with leading innovation labs and accelerators. Through these roles, Garrett helps bridge the gap between legacy insurance markets and emerging fintech, insuretech, and digital risk transfer solutions — reinforcing CRC’s commitment to innovation and strategic growth.
Garrett holds dual Master’s degrees in Business Administration from Brown University and IE Business School, earned with honors, as well as certifications in Fintech and Executive Leadership from MIT and The Wharton School respectively. He also holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Business and Politics from the University of Puget Sound.
