Solen Soya is a Director in the Financial Services Industry Group at Alvarez & Marsal in New York, where he advises insurance carriers, MGAs, MGUs and private equity investors on strategy, operational value creation, and transformation. He brings nearly 20 years of experience across insurance strategy, performance improvement, M&A, and Insurtech partnerships. His work centers on helping companies in insurance value chain move from strategy to disciplined execution.
Prior to A&M, Solen spent a decade at Zurich Insurance Group, serving as Director and Executive Committee Member in an emerging market operation. He led Strategy, Marketing, Enterprise PMO and Performance Management functions, driving profitable growth and operational improvement that positioned the company as the most profitable P&C insurer in its market. He built the company’s direct-to-consumer channel, launched embedded insurance partnerships, led M&A initiatives, and established the enterprise project management office from the ground up.
Earlier in his career, Solen was a Senior Strategy Consultant at PwC, leading market entry, due diligence and operational value creation engagements for private equity and corporate clients across insurance and adjacent sectors. He also was part of the founding team of Cigna in Turkey.
Solen holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and BS from Middle East Technical University.
