Marcos Fernandez is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Fiat Ventures. Fiat Ventures is an early-stage venture capital firm focused on fintech. Marcos advises, invests in, and accelerates the next wave of digital innovation in financial services. He is also a Partner at Fiat Growth, the firm’s operating and consulting arm. Fiat’s focus areas include fintech, insurtech, proptech, and digital banking. Marcos spoke at a past InsurTechNY event.
Marcos co-founded Fiat in 2021. Through Fiat Ventures, he invests in early-stage financial services companies. Through Fiat Growth, he helps founders and brands build for impact with hands-on growth support. His work sits at the center of financial innovation.
Before Fiat, Marcos spent nearly four years at Ripple. He worked in strategic partnerships and business development. He helped build RippleNet, a global cross-border payments network. He also led go-to-market strategy for one of Ripple’s flagship products. Earlier, he worked in product marketing at SoFi, the consumer finance company.
Marcos began his career in management consulting. He was a Senior Associate at KPMG. There he delivered large technology-enabled projects for state and local government clients.
Marcos earned an MBA from The University of Texas at Austin. He also studied engineering management at the University of Arizona.
